Thermal Stores
We supply various sizes of thermal stores, from 300 to 5000 litres. The tanks are constructed of 3mm steel, and insulated with100mm of polyurethane foam to give extremely low heat losses. The outer casing is 0.5mm white coated galvanised steel.





Round tanks are the most economical. In addition to these, we supply oval tanks which take up less space, and narrow tanks for small spaces.

The tanks are supplied with one or two heat exchangers located under the coloured covers. Generally the lower heat exchanger is connected to the solar collectors, and the upper heat exchanger is used to instantaneously heat the hot water.

The main body of water may be heated directly by a boiler, and can directly feed radiator and underfloor circuits. A small header tank is usually used to maintain the water level/pressure, and take up expansion. The stores are rated to 1.5 bar and the heat exchangers to 10 bar.

The connections shown in the pictures are female sized ¾”, 1”, 1¼” and 2”, and feed directly into the tank body.

As an option these stores can be supplied with detachable insulation, reducing their size by around 200mm and enabling them to go through smaller doorways.
